Nice tarrace in Haarlem, to get good drink and very tasty food! I really enjoyed my time in this place. Deffinietly recomend it to friends and other people. 😀

Very friendly and patient staff, even on a busy Saturday night. We ordered a variety of starters, none of them disappointed. The escargots were tasty and had the right texture (not too rubbery). Razor clams were delicious, so was the burrata di buffalo with grilled zucchini. We had a vegetarian main, roasted caulliflower on a very smooth mash with crumbled almonds. Original dish and well prepared. Crème brulée was good, but not exceptional. Very large portion though, enough for 2 people.

The food was nice, and the service, in the begin, as well. Aldo ordered the maindish directly. It took a massive 1,5h. The nice lady served quickly but said it's a problem in the kitchen. Now the fun, it was the day dish I ordered and my wife a normal white fish. In the end, no more than a stupid sorry .. with an agree tune..

We enjoyed a super tasty and atmospheric team dinner with 12 people at the Colette. The place was packed with guests on a Thursday night in October but the staff is quick and attentive. The rotisserie is the highlight. Filet Mignon and oysters were my personal favorites.

QUITE ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT ++ MORE STAFF IS NEEDED + We had three nights at Haarlem, and we tested (on private grounds) the bistro of ML (quite good), La Plume (not good) and lastly Café Colette. Colette was, as you will know, a very famous artist. One would wish that the owner (or the owner lady) of Colette goes one time for five days to Paris just to see how a good bistro is running there. May be at Gare du Nord or (famous) Café Select in Montparnasse. Professional waiters, working at mid-day at an incredible speed, but still full of politeness. There, in two hours, 60% of the daily business is made, and overall it is running as very good oiled machine, but with value. And may be you put somebody of your kitchen also for two weeks to Paris. The meat of my tornedos was tender, but it was more what the French call "cuisine familiale". However, my wife was happy with her "poussin" which means that there is room for improvement. Place is nice but too noisy and crowded. Filet mignon was like we asked and was very tasty. Cod was very tender and delicious too. But creme brûlée and cheesecake were not so good.

Better make reservations if you want to eat here! We didn’t and we’ve ended up at the bar were the service was still fantastic and the food excellent.

Nice atmosphere. Concept is French bistro, but quality of food often lacks. Poussin (spring chicken) was way too salty due to excessive brining, sauce too salty too. Pasta dishes lack authenticity, and don’t fit with French bistro concept. Could be elevated a couple of notches to make it really good.
